Happening later this month, the Quad City Animal Welfare Center will be hosting a "kitten shower" and they want your help.

It's on April 9 and even if you can't adopt a kitty right now, you can still donate, play games, enter raffles, and enjoy some food.

If you just want to donate to the kittens, you can do that too. Some of the things on QCAWC's kitten registry include:

  • Purina Kitten Chow
  • Toys
  • Bottles & Miracle Nipples
  • Canned Wet Food
  • Plain Chicken Baby Food
  • Non-Clumping Litter

The kitten shower will be from noon-3:00 p.m. on April 9 and will also feature adoption specials if you want to take a kitten home. The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is at 724 2nd Ave W. in Milan.

If you can't make it to the shower but you still want to donate, here's the link. You can also get something off of the kittens' Amazon wish list at this link.

If you aren't up for adopting long-term yet, you can foster a kitten while it's still too small to be put up for adoption and give it a warm place to grow.

Personally, I got my kitten when he was 5 months old from my hometown's shelter and, from the bottom of my heart, I really encourage you to adopt a pet if your situation allows. Dogs, cats, kittens, any furbaby. They're such good company to have and so sweet to come home to at the end of the day.
