Mardi Gras is Going to the Dogs with QC “Mardi Paws”
Mardi Gras is upon us (King Cake szn) and it's getting a furry, fluffy, four-legged celebration in downtown Davenport.
The Humane Society of Scott County will be hosting Mardi Paws, a fundraiser to help the humane society that will feature all kinds of traditional Mardi Gras festivities. There will be authentic Cajun food from Bayside Bistro, live music from Soul Storm, a photo booth, a silent auction, and you'll be able to vote on the Mardi Paws King & Queen.
The event will be on Saturday, March 5 from 7:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m. at River Music Experience in downtown Davenport. Included in your ticket purchase are food, a drink ticket, and admission. You're encouraged to check out the silent auction and the inevitable challenge of selecting a Mardi Paws King and Queen from the array of pups. Tickets are $45 for a single person, $85 for a couple. Here's the link to get tickets or you can get them at the door.
Money collected from the night will go to help the shelter provide necessities for their animals. You can still support the shelter if you can't attend Mardi Paws. For more information, click here for other ways to donate or help. You can see the cute kitties or pups that you can adopt on their website too.
Mardi Paws is one of the largest fundraisers of the year for the humane society and it's a great excuse to party and dress up. Not only is it a fun and festive night, but you're also helping out the furkids too! Laissez les bons temps rouler!
