Saturday, July 29th, 2023 is going to be a very busy day in Davenport. 99 years of tradition happens in just one day with the 50th RAGBRAI and the 49th Bix 7. Before everything happens and we get a bunch of visitors to the town, the City of Davenport wants to make sure the city looks good, especially where RAGBRAI will end.

To get Centennial Park and Veterans Memorial Park looking beautiful for thousands of bike riders to dip their tires in the Mississippi River, officials are seeking the help of residents and volunteers to help with a Riverfront Refresh.

Davenport Needs You At Riverfront Refresh

In a social media post on Sunday, the City of Davenport asked residents and volunteers to register to help them prepare welcome more than 30,000 RAGBRAI participants. This year, RAGBRAI bike riders will dip their tires in the Mississippi River at the boat ramp at Veterans Memorial Park, right next to Centennial Park.

Officials say volunteers will be picking up litter along the Davenport Riverfront, focused primarily on Centennial and Veteran's Memorial Parks. This activity will take place in both grass and parking lot areas. Volunteers will receive safety instructions prior to the cleanup.

Happening that same day is the 49th running of the Bix 7. Between the Bix and RAGBRAI, we're going to have a lot of out-of-town visitors in Davenport and throughout the Quad Cities.

If you can and want to help with the Riverfront Refresh this Saturday, July 22nd, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Centennial and Veterans Memorial Parks, you can register to volunteer here.

Gloves and supplies will be provided.
