Every week, we introduce you to an animal looking for its forever home. Each one comes from our friends over at the Humane Society of Scott County. Now, the shelter itself needs your help!

The Humane Society is looking for volunteers for the winter months, and you can check out what they're all about next weekend. Next Sunday, Dec 2nd at 10 a.m., the shelter will host an orientation for anyone interested in helping the animals.

According to their Facebook event page, "There is no commitment to a volunteering schedule, or certain amount of hours by attending this meeting. This is simply an informational hour of how you can get involved. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult."

Volunteer work always looks good for students, and what better way to do it than helping and playing with adorable animals? I volunteered at an animal rescue in my high schools years, and I still remember the experience to this day!
