With just nine days until Halloween, I think it's just about time to embrace all things spooky. Yes, even black cats. Because here's the thing — they really aren't that spooky. They're more...spoopy, as the Internet would say.

Basically, they're adorably ferocious and not actually bad luck. But there are generally more black cats in shelters than any other kind. So we want to change that, starting with our friend Lickorice.

Lickorice — spelled that way intentionally — is just four months old, so she's still got quite a bit of growing to do.

She doesn't mind being held usually, but if she does mind, she'll let you know with a bit of squirming and kicking. But overall, she's very sweet. And you can always bring in your other family members (furry or otherwise) for a meet and greet to see how you'd do together.
