A record-breaking snowfall in Newfoundland, Canada, has left residents with the task of digging themselves out after they were blanketed with 2.5 FEET of fresh snow.

St. John's International Airport recorded 30 inches of snow Friday, breaking the previous daily snowfall record set on April 5, 1999, of 26.9 inches.
