If you're enjoying the weather this morning, use that enjoyment to batten down the hatches before this afternoon.

We're seeing temperatures in the 60's this morning, but the National Weather Service says we should be expecting some high winds starting around noon.

Most of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are under a High Wind Warning until tomorrow morning.

Winds of 25 to 35mph from the Southwest are on their way, with gusts as high as 60mph possible.

The National Weather Service of the Quad Cities also shared another graphic, showing their forecast for Eastern Iowa's incoming wind gusts.

By about 7pm, you'll want to make sure you have all of your outdoor furniture tied down, because the winds will hit above 50mph.

By 10pm, gusts of around 60mph are expected to blow through the area.

We also are looking at a slight to moderate risk for severe storms to roll through the area this evening as well.

The potential hazards include the high winds, of course, but also heavy lightning and an isolated tornado.

Stay safe, stay aware, and be prepared.
